Wakesurf foil: Best conditions to learn 2018

Wakesurf foil: Best conditions to learn 2018…

One of the best things about the wakesurf foil is that the water conditions don’t really matter. Once you’re up and foiling, rough, choppy, wind-blown water feels like perfect glass. If it’s super choppy, you can pop up and practice your balance and body position behind the boat, then when you are ready, steer out to the flats and away from the turbulent water behind the boat.

A selfish insider tip- avoid learning with a boat full of people, at least for your first couple sessions.

Everyone on the boat is going to want to try the foil, and if you want to learn efficiently you’ll need a couple long, uninterrupted sessions without five other people rushing you because they want a turn.

Lastly, foils don’t like sand, rocks, grass, sticks or seaweed, so make sure the water is clear and deep enough that you don’t stand the chance of running aground or hitting anything.  Another quick read is
