Ben Wilson takes honors for the 4th time in the world’s biggest kitesurfing event.

Merimbula turned on the conditions for the kite surfers over the four days making number 28 one of the best events on record. 
 In what could best be described as a celebration of wind and waves competitors reveled in four days of fantastic surf and wind. Over 160 competitors entered the event this year arriving from Hawaii, NZ, Denmark, Holland France and all around Australia.

Spokesperson for the event and currently one of the world’s best kitesurfers, Ben Wilson starting competing in the MAMBO Classic over 9 years ago, which assisted to launch his career and see him become one of the world’s most famous kitesurfers. Ben is now internationally recognized as a leading and innovative professional in the sport and has pushed the boundaries of kitesurfing into a new realm.

 “Being part of an event with nearly 200 competitors was a powerful experience and to score epic conditions the whole time was so good. Winning the MAMBO Classic means a great deal to me – it’s in my home town, where I grew up in the surf and where I developed my love for kiting and it’s the only event I compete in these days because it is focused entirely on surfing the waves with a kite.” states Ben.
